Lancashire Anti-Poverty Network
Established in partnership with Resolve Poverty, the network seeks to create a space for good practice sharing and collaboration between the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector (VCFSE) and the public sector around poverty, and to identify strategic, policy and practical gaps in anti-poverty responses.
Lancashire Anti-Poverty Network Forum: The forum will explore poverty in our communities, current anti-poverty activities and initiatives taking place, and look forward to the future of the network to tackle poverty across Lancashire.

Lancashire Anti-Poverty Network: Income Maximisation

Many thanks to everyone who joined us and Patsy Davies from Resolve Poverty at the Income Maximisation event at Layton Methodist Church in Blackpool.
More than 40 attendees heard from Mark Walmsley describing the work that’s happening in Layton including the food support & cookery classes at Layton Methodist , and how they continually looking at improving the support they give to their community.
Candice Lancaster from Preston City Council described the Benefits Calculator platform and the difference it has made for people in Preston and Lancaster. The calculator can be hosted on partners websites – please contact Candice if you are an organisation in Preston and/or Lancaster if you would like to learn more and host the calculator tool to reach more residents to support income maximisation.
Gill Fourie described income Maximisation in a foodbank setting and the work that Blackburn Foodbank is doing to support local residents. The foodbank not only provides emergency food parcels but also has a busy Money Advice Service ‘The Oaks’ which supported 559 people last year.
Gina Green Rose CIC described how people can access support to heat their homes and the various ways to help keep heat within homes. Grants and offers available in Lancashire and the Lancashire wide Cosy Homes in Lancashire project.
Janet from ICANN Advocacy described the work they do across the area and how they can help & support with benefits applications & appeals. They can help ensure forms are filled in correctly and from Jan 2026 they are releasing some online training aimed at VCFSE organisations to help support them in conversations around benefits applications

Thank you to everyone who joined us and the team from Resolve Poverty in Burnley for the launch of the Lancashire Anti-Poverty Network Forum.
The meeting shared findings from the Poverty Awareness, Prioritisation & Activity survey and discussed the maximisation of household income and proposed next steps for the forum.
