Denise joined the LOCAL project team in Sept 2023, having worked in the VCFSE sector since 1999, mainly in the East of Lancashire. Her work in the sector has been varied, including national pilot projects for The Department of Education, NHS and NCVO.
Alongside LOCAL, Denise works for Community CVS and Preston Volunteers, delivering practical training workshops for volunteers and has been involved in developing The Volunteer’s Essential Toolkit, Volunteer Management and the newly launched Volunteer Quality Mark .
Denise has the advantage of also having worked within the public sector in education, careers, social services and youth work. Her experience is primarily in working with young people, being a qualified Tertiary Tutor, Youth Worker and Careers Advisor, with a first-class honours degree in Working with Children and Young People.
An avid recycler and upcycler, Denise leads on the LOCAL Manifesto priorities of “Community Wellbeing” and “Green Communities & Sustainability”. Her experience in organising events sees her also lead on the many upcoming events we are planning to gather the voice of the community and raise the profile of the VCFSE sector.
