Collectively we can influence policy

The VCFSE has a strong collective voice and evidence of the impact policies are having on communities. Any anti-poverty strategy should look to harness this collective influence and target areas of policy such as welfare, work and education that could have a lasting, positive impact on the lives of those people living in poverty.

  1. To be effective this also has to consider using the collective knowledge held by, and voice of, the VCFS to harness the collective influence to promote not just employment opportunities but also a living wage and good employment terms and conditions, perhaps starting with a campaign against fire and rehire on lower pay, terms and conditions
